The family of Babar Ahmad are calling for 100,000 people to sign an e-petition calling for him to be tried in the UK. They wish for a full discussion to take place at a parliamentary level in relation to his extradition, and this can only happen if 100,000 people support the petition. May Allah shower His blessing upon you all and may all your fasts and your du’as be accepted by The Almighty.

Please make du’a for all those who are in permanent state of hunger and who have no food to open their fast with, all those who have no home to go to, those who are incarcerated, those who are oppressed, those who live in fear because of war, all the musaakin (poor and needy) and every one else less fortunate.

We ask Allah our Lord, to deliver them from their hardship, Ameen.

The new moon for Ramadan was not sighted today (30th July 2011), thus making the month of Shaban 30 days.

The first day of fasting will be Monday 1st August 2011

The first taraweeh prayer will take place on Sunday 31st July 2011 inshaAllah.

Today is the first day of the sacred month of Rajab.  Only two months to go before the blessed month of Ramadan is upon us.  The early generations used to prepare 6 months ahead.  Btw, June 21 (- or + 1 day) will be 40 days from the first of Ramadan.  Take extra care on what you eat and drink (in terms of halaal and haraam) and check your house of any taweez/amulets/’good luck’ charms etc.  The last thing we want is our ibaadah in Ramadan to be nullified.
